Results
The participants will relate their posture to the optimal postural alignment while standing and seating, will practice some basic exercises to improve it and will practice safe ways to lift and carry loads, do spinal rotations and other actions that may potentially lead to injuries if performed incorrectly.

Description
The session will give theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience on the importance of posture, ways to safely lift and carry weights, and some basic exercises that can improve static and dynamic posture. The participants will listen to a lecture, work in groups to have an objective self-evaluation and will leave the class with straightforward tips on how to avoid injuries and/ or mitigate physical limitations that they may already have, such back or knee pain, etc. More specifically the following topics will be covered:
Static standing posture
Static seated posture on a chair (dining, work)
Car seat position
Safe weightlifting mechanics off the floor and above the head
Carrying weights in both and one hand (groceries, car seat, etc.)
Safe spine bends and twists
Safety tips for those with previous injuries and pain (neck, back, knee pain, etc.)
